Our top vegan picks downtown

Auckland has a diverse café and restaurant scene.  Pick any diet or style of dining – Auckland has it.  The rise of vegan food is slowly sweeping Auckland and we have some top picks we know you will absolutely love!

4-8 Chancery Street

This new spot right across from Ellen Melville square is located metres from where we stop on the tour.  Health Nut Kitchen is a hidden gem with a delicious menu of simple and wholesome food.  We love the nachos with sunfed ‘chicken’ and their kick-ass smoothies.  Visit Health Nut Kitchen for a cozy escape from the busy downtown or simply get something to go and enjoy it in the sun at Ellen Melville square.

10 Vulcan Lane

Raw Power is a vegetarian and vegan staple of downtown Auckland.  It has a simple no-fuss atmosphere where you can build your own salads at their buffet or order something hot from the menu.  Located above another one of our stops on Vulcan lane, Raw Power offers a great vantage point of one of Auckland’s historic sites.

50 High St

Another no fuss delight! Sunflower is tucked away on High Street in the heart of Auckland.  We love this place as it manages to be hidden in plain sight.  They have a full Vegetarian and Vegan menu plus an abundance of gluten free options.  If you are after satisfying and delicious Thai and Chinese chow Sunflower is your place.

14 Customs Street East

Little Bird Organics is a hole in the wall café you might miss if you weren’t paying attention.  The downtown location is the little sister to their first and larger location in Ponsonby.  This cute café offers a selection of raw vegan treats as well as healthy drinks to eat in or take away. Here you can browse their cookbooks while you watch the city whizz by.
